This unique collage of dragons, from Dreamworks Animation's film "How to Train Your Dragon," was designed and painted by mixed media artist Dave Avanzino.  The dragons in the artwork are all based on the amazing concept sketches produced for the film.  The artwork is painted onto a series of custom-made wood boxes of varying sizes and depths.  Dave has hand-painted the dragons on top of rich, textural backgrounds that feature Viking patterns, textures and creative faux finishes that wrap around the sizes of the boxes.  Once completed, they individual boxes were assembled into a one-of-a-kind piece with hanging hardware included.
